A peak into the Biggest event of the year – IIFA Awards

I love Indian films! There’s nothing more interesting and refreshing than them. Its not just my feeling. The emotion, drama, romance and action in Indian cinema is loved by people all over the world. This world wide love for Bollywood gave rise to the International Indian Film Academy Awards that are eagerly awaited each year. It is an exiting event with a huge crowd gathering to watch their favorite stars perform and receive awards.

All that's going to happen at IIFA!

All that's going to happen at IIFA!

This event is all set to entertain us again this year. On this occasion let us take a look at its journey since its establishment. IIFA started off as an unticketed event way back in 2000 and ended up as the most popular awards. You obviously want to know the reason behind this sudden popularity! It is basically because these awards are based on worldwide polling that is open to all.

The 13th edition of these awards this year will be held in Singapore once again. Earlier in 2004 the same place was chosen for this grand event. Now let me begin with giving you hints about what you are going to see on the show this time. Nominations are the most interesting part of the event. Boy! There is tough competition this year I must say. Unlike the earlier years this year’s IIFA dominated the women in the industry. Two smash hits of this year grab all the attention in the event. Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has got 14 nominations while Ekta Kapoor’s biopic Dirty Picture starring Vidya Balan has got 13 of them. It goes without saying that the actress is nominated for the best actor female category for her splendid performance in the film. Apart from these awards you will also see actress Rekha receiving a life time achievement award for her exceptional contribution to Indian Cinema.

How can an event end without some breath taking performances? After all it is the performances that give life to the entire event. This year’s performances that we are going to see will be the outcome of actor Prabhu Deva’s efforts. Yes! The actor/director/choreographer has choreographed the entire event. Dancing to his tunes will be Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. While Hrithik will repeating his Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara performance, PC will be seen paying tribute to Rekha before the actress comes to receive her award. Apart from this we will see Prabhu Deva himself shaking a led to a number of songs choreographed by the star himself. I just cant wait to see him move his body to songs like Mukabala, Kay Sera Sera, Main Aisa Kyun Hoon and Chiku Buku. This is not it friends! You will also see Ranbir Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha giving out standing performances to a verity of songs.

What’s an IIFA event without a star studded guest list.

Lets find out who we will see in the event and who we will miss. Actor Salman Khan will make it to the event despite his commitment to the shooting of Ek Tha Tiger. But unfortunately we wont get to see Shahrukh Khan this year. King Khan is apparently very busy with Yashraj’s upcoming film and he already left for a shoot in London. The leading ladies in the film, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma will join him a little later. We are going to miss you a lot Shahrukh! Okay people, keep yourself free on the 7th of June in the evening. This is the only time when all the stars get together to entertain us. Don’t miss it!
