Apple Inc. has finally put an end to the misery of millions of iPhone fans across the world by announcing the release of the latest iPhone 5. It’s being marketed by apple as being thinner and lighter with a bigger screen when compared to its predecessors. The year’s most awaited phone was unveiled last week by Phil Schiller, the marketing head of Apple in San Francisco last week.
The phone is in so much demand that Apple has set a new record of 2 million sales on the first day itself making it the fastest selling device. The demand is o much that it surpasses the initial supply so the Company has decided to cater to the pre-orders of the customers in the U.S on September 21 while many are scheduled to be delivered in October. On September 21 the iPhone 5 will be available in the U.S, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the U.K. The phone will be available on Apple.com and in apple retail stores through AT&T, Verizon and a few selected authorized resellers. On September 28 in will be made available in 22 more countries mostly in the EU region. The phone will come in a white and silver or black and slate version and the suggested price in the U.S are as follow:
- $199 for 16GB model
- $299 for 32GB model and
- $399 for 64GB model
And when the iPhone 5 lands in India according to PriceDekho.com, the approximate price could be INR 45,000.
Although many are questioning whether the new iPhone 5 is better than the previous version and if you should upgrade, so for all the people in doubt here’s a complete comparison of the iPhone 4 with the 4s:
Finally, the question is whether an upgrade is really required or not??? Well, for people with older versions like the iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4 it’s a no-brainer but iPhone 4s users need to consider if they want the improved features like LTE support, taller display, thinner and lighter outer casing, faster processor and GPU for gaming etc. and if that’s not what you want then the iPhone 4s is more than enough, also check out this really funny video below.
