18th of May – The D Day for Ram Gopal Varma’s movie DEPARTMENT!

Director Ram Gopal Varma has always been in news for each one of his releases. The man is back again with his new venture called Department. This has been a much talked about Bollywood movie specially for its star cast. On one hand it has legends like Mr Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt and on the other hand there are new comers to Bollywood like Rana Daggubatti. Now don’t ask me who Rana is, he was last seen in Dum Maro Dum which is a film of a similar genre.

Since the film has not released yet it is obvious that we do not have much information about it, but I’ll definitely tell you the name of the director, producers, music director and choreographers associated with the film. As mentioned earlier it’s a Ram Gopal Varma film, so you know what kind of a story you should expect. The film’s title also reveals a lot about this.

Now let’s talk a little about the lead roles played by the wonderful actors mentioned above. The film brings to us Mr Bachchan playing the role of a gangster while Rana Daggubati and Sanjay Dutt will be seen as police inspectors, encounter specialists and can say leaders of the encounter squad respectively. We see others like Lakshmi Manchu from Tollywood, Madhu Shalini and Nathalia Kaur in special appearances and guest roles. Moving on the music of the film is given by Buppi Lahiri, Dharam – Sandeep and Vikram Magi. The stars danced to their tunes on the direction of M Ravichandran, Siddhartha More, Harshraj Shroff and others. Now the names of those without whom the film wouldn’t exist. The producers ladies and gentlemen are Siddhant Oberoi and Amit Sharma. Last but not the least the film has its story, screenplay and dialogues by Nilesh Girkar.

Now months of effort of all these people put together will come before us on the 18^th of this month. Let’s see if RGV’s Department is able to entertain us and be a hit at the box office. Yes it’s now Johnny Depp, he is someone who could get enough of these two things. Johnny Depp says he could go on and on about his love for them. Getting to the details the actor reveals that the life of the Banjaras has grabbed his attention.

From Johnny Depp’s observation of the tribe he says that they know the exact definition of living. He means to say that they know how a life is to be lived and that he has a lot to learn from them. This makes him want to be a part of their lives and explore their traditions.

The actor also had a lot of words of appreciation for the legendary actor Mr.Amitabh Bachchan. The actor’s most ambitious project and his debut in Hollywood was made to wait for some reasons unknown. But now Mr Bachchan has shot for his first international outing recently. Depp is very happy that Hollywood finally has the actor whom he always loved.

Ask him about this and he says “Mr Bachchan is a very strong and important actor. He is also a very interesting man and I have great respect for him. I am glad that Hollywood has got him finally”. Depp is celebrating the success of Dark Shadows that hit the Indian theaters recently this Friday. Hope he keeps entertaining us in future too!

This new game will come into the market shortly after the popularity of Angry Birds which has high expectations from people.

Now let me reveal to you the name given to this wonderful game. It’s called “Amazing Alex” which is a physics puzzler based on “Casey’s Contraptions,” and is about a young boy who is passionate about building things. Rovio played safe by buying the game from the developers of Snappy Touch and Mystery Coconut and not creating it by themselves. As stated above the game was previously called Casey’s Contraptions and was renamed as Amazing Alex by Rovio.

The Angry Birds, the game which you will see as a default games in every mobile now has recently reached One Billion downloads and has high expectations on Amazing Alex too.

GE to replace 100-watt Incandescent with LED Bulb

LED’s are known to reduce our electricity bills. But we cant have it all over our house, can we? Think again! It is the 21st century and everything can be made possible. The same is applicable to LEDs not only for your TV but also for your bulbs. General Electric is coming up with a 27 watt A – 19 bulb that’ll replace the traditional ones in your house. Recently news of similar developments by Philips came to focus and now it’s the GE.

It’s time again for the MTV Movie Awards this year. Before we talk about these awards lets take a proper look at its origin. These are film awards held annually, whose winners are decided by the producers and executives of MTV. There is also a voting facility provided on the official website of MTV Movie Awards, where fans vote for their favorite actors in various categories. Its an amazing platform to encourage and welcome new talent into the film industry. The categories in these awards are slightly different from the regular ones.

Mind you, being different does not mean they are unimportant or any less prestigious than the regular ones. The amazing thing about these awards is that the categories don’t remain the same every year. Now this is what draws a line between MTV Awards and the regular set of film awards.

Lets take a look at some of the categories that were awarded last year and the ones that’ll be awarded this year. This time celebs will be receiving awards for the best movie, best performance, best breakthrough performance, best villain, best performance in a comic role, best kiss, best fight, best jaw dropping moment, best scared as shit performance, biggest bad-ass star and best line from a movie. Earlier we had categories like, most desirable male, most desirable female, best on screen duo, best action sequence, best new film maker, best song from a movie, best dance sequence, best sandwich in a movie and so on. These are all categories started in different decades of the award show. Of course we cannot do without mentioning the life time achievement award that is given here. Oh my!
