With polling over in several cities across the country for the 2009 general election, several equations among political parties are surfacing which indicate that it might be a hung parliament this time with coalition in the offing!
Speaking of coalitions, both the ruling and oppositions parties have some concerns.
NDA led by Congress has lost favour of its ally Laalo Prasad Yadav who has chosen to form ties with Ram Vilas Paswan and Mulayam Singh Yadav ahead of the polls, which brings in greater incertainity in the outcome of the polls. Meanwhile in Orissa, Naveen Patnaik has ruled out any alliance with the major parties, i.e, Congress or the BJP which makes the scenario ever more interesting! The south of India too has had its fair share of political developments with Jayalalitha inclining towards the BJP for a post poll alliance.
Going by these developments, it appears that regional parties are all set to play a vital role in the formation of the Government at the center.
