India reigned supreme in the second match against Australia inflicting a humiliating 320 runs defeat on the visitors. It was after a long time indeed that one saw a collective Indian outfit performance on all the five days of the test match.

Sachin Tendulkar’s knock in the first innings at Mohali would be one of the most memorable one as he surpassed the great Brian Lara and became the highest run getter in test cricket. Sachin needed 15 runs to get past Lara’s record and he got there in style to reach 11,955 runs surpassing the West Indian legendary batsman’s record of 11,953 runs. After his innings at Mohali, he had scored 12,027 runs in test cricket.

India needed to win its fixture against Sri Lanka to confirm their place in the finals of the Asia Cup on Sunday. All eyes were on the encounter which one could say turned out to be a one sided affair when one looks at it in the hindsight.
Batting first the Lankans posted 308 for the loss of eight wickets in the match. It was another 300+ total in the tournament which has witnessed a slew of 300+ scores. The Lankan team was well placed for a score in excess of 300 but were restricted to 307 by the Indian bowlers as they lost steam towards the end of their innings.
