A Good User Interface not only depends on laying out the elements, their placements, or colors or patterns etc. But also depends on how well you frame the desired content and makes it easy to do a particular job or action etc.
The next generation user interface is here by Fujitsu, which accurately detects the user’s finger and what it is touching, creating an interactive touchscreen-like system, using objects in the real word. This is the perfect mix of bringing your reality into technology.
Here is a good news for wireframe designers and front-end developers, let me introduce a tool called Clarify.io which can streamline or manage the workflows of any particular design or module you may be referring to in your project. If your project team members are spread-ed across the globe, then it is really tough to streamline a workflow and you may end up with many mails, calls, team meetings, screen sharing to finalize the design of one particular module with your fellow designers or developers.
After blogging came into picture the news sites and other huge content oriented sites got a tough time to market or project their content for more readability and make the most of the top content available to the readers.
Before the news sites were simple and easy to read, but now its became a challenge for the news or huge content oriented sites to display more categorized top content in one single home page like having category wise new articles, top articles, photos, videos, forums, recent comments or activities and most important not to forget social widgets like bookmarking buttons, facebook, google friendconnect widgets etc.
The Navigation Menu plays a key role in any website, either it is a drop-down or a simple one. Its ok for small sites with 5 to 6 menu items, you will have more options to present the menu with better navigation by giving good look and feel by taking the latest web trends & usability into consideration.
But what if you have a huge portal or a site with lots of content to feature to the visitors of your site? That’s the first and main question comes to every designer and developer before they plan to develop a website. It’s the same case with me – I always dig into different kind of sites like magazine, news, huge portals etc. to find how others are giving better navigation – the different ways/approaches to present the menu by highlighting their key sections/parts of their site.
