Key figures in international telecommunications

Innovation leaders in International Telecommunications

Telecommunications are essential for conducting business in today’s busy world. Advances in telecommunications have played a large role in developing business on an international scale.

In the past, it was costly to communicate with foreign countries. Mail communications were too slow to suit many business needs. While on the outside, it may seem that telecommunications development has hit a peak, it is simply a false assumption. There are many areas where economies are still emerging.

Rapid growth in income and development has led to an increased demand for lucrative telecommunications projects. Now is a great time to invest in these economies. Another benefit is that the improvement in telecommunications in developing countries will make it easier for other countries to conduct business. This can lead to even more opportunities on both sides.

Here are a few of the key figures of the telecommunications industry.

Ehsanollah Bayat

Mr. Bayat has committed his life to helping rebuild Afghanistan by improving communications and the way of life for many people. By improving telecommunications, he plans to bring improved economic opportunities to Afghanistan. In 2002 Ehsanollah Bayat established the Afghan Wireless Communications Company, becoming the first wireless network provider in Afghanistan.

This company currently allows more than 4 million Afghanistan citizens to conduct business and stay in touch with loved ones. In 2005 Mr. Bayat continued his work by founding the popular Ariana Radio and Television Network (ATN), which broadcasts news, sports, education, and regional interest programs to 20 million Afghan citizens in all but one of the 34 provinces.

Martin Cooper

As the Vice President of Motorola, Martin Cooper was a key figure in developing the handheld mobile phone for household use. This helped pave the way for the cellular phone, and finally, the smartphone that allows many people to stay in contact and conduct business almost anywhere in the world. He has been quoted as saying that Star Trek’s love inspired the cordless hand-held phone.

Thomas Edison

No list of telecommunication pioneers would be complete without including Thomas Edison. The telegraph made it possible for people to communicate messages quicker and easier than ever. This led to the first telephones, and from there, telecommunications progressed to the tiny smartphones carried by many people today.

Unlike anything anyone had ever seen before, Thomas Edison can be given credit for starting the telecommunications revolution that broke down borders and boundaries.

The Future Of Telecommunications

As technology improves and becomes available to more and more people, additional economic activity is likely to arise. With better economic possibilities, the lives of many people can be vastly improved. Better health care and more job opportunities for the average worker will lead to even more growth and improvements.

Those who invest in telecommunications’ future are likely to see good growth and returns on their investment, particularly in emerging economies on the cusp of a telecommunications boom. Investors can feel good in that they are helping people work towards a better future.
