The second edition of Big Boss i.e. Big Boss 2 hit the Indian television in the second week of August. It is being aired on the new channel called Colors unlike its predecessor Sony and has a an interesting group of people who stay in the house in this edition. Sanjay Nirupam, Rahul Mahajan, Ehsan Qureshi, Monika Bedi and Debojit Saha are few of the inhabitants of Big Boss’s house. Noteworthy is the fact that most of them are news makers in some sphere of activity or other!
The show is on similar format like its previous version. The mix of people chosen for this edition is interesting to say the least. It appears like the individuals are all so near yet so far as far as making a mark in their respective professional spheres are concerned. If it is Payal Rohtagi who is seeking a break in Bollywood then it so is laughter challenge participant Ehsan Qureshi.
While each of them would be trying his or her best to outwit and out think the other to get the booty of the show, it would be interesting to see the tactics deployed inside Big Boss2. While chicanery and pretense would come in handy to win friends from time to time, even outspokenness would be a weapon which would yield fruitful results. Land mine would be the word to encapsulate Big Boss2 whereby each individual would have to measure and place each step!
Interesting to note is that popularity of the show among the viewers which makes one think – Are the viewers curious to get a ‘sneak peek’ of the ‘wanna be individuals’ in informal settings or is it all about curiosity to see how the participants behave behind closed doors ( in front of cameras) ?Or is it about feeding on the politics of affection and rivalry which dots the developments inside Big Boss2 ? Curiosity or intrigue what ever one could call it, the fact is that the first edition of the show established the fact that there is a urge in each of us to know something about the other, something which is not apparent or concealed from the outside world!!
Well, what ever it is, one thing is assured that each participant would be assured some space in the minds of consumers for some time to come. This would be valuable given the clutter and scores of stars and shows that exist in the Indian television industry. And who knows..some of them might get the lucky break they have been looking for!
